Manufacturer variation matters.

These are finished manufacturer examples, not standardized sizes or installation guarantees. Deck fabric, pleats, split corners, elastic, and drop length vary by construction.

The deck and drop answer different questions

The deck is the top panel positioned across the support surface; the drop is the vertical fabric length from the deck seam toward the floor. Record both before comparing products.

Split corners describe construction

A split-corner bed skirt has openings at one or more corners to accommodate posts or frame geometry. The term does not establish the split length, overlap, placement, or finished fit.

Measurement method

Start with the product and space you actually have.

  1. 1

Measure the support surface. Record the deck width and length where the product will rest.

  2. 2

Measure the vertical drop. Measure from the deck seam to the desired lower edge.

  3. 3

Record the corners. Note posts, split corners, pleats, and other construction details.

  4. 4

Compare finished dimensions. Use the current product chart instead of the size label alone.

Frequently asked questions

What measurements define a bed skirt?

Compare the deck width and length, the vertical drop, and construction details such as corner splits, pleats, elastic, or panels.

Is the bed-skirt deck always the same size as the mattress?

Not exactly. Current examples can be wider or longer than nominal mattress measurements, so use the product’s finished dimensions.
