Queen bed skirt size: deck dimensions and drop

Two current Queen bed-skirt charts list a 60 × 80 inch deck. Their finished drops differ at 15 and 18 inches, showing why drop must be measured separately from the mattress top.

Manufacturer variation matters.

Matching the 60 × 80 inch top does not resolve drop, corner construction, pleat placement, foundation exposure, or finished-product tolerance.

Queen deck dimensions can match the mattress top

Both current examples list a 60 × 80 inch deck, the same nominal rectangle as a Queen mattress. That agreement does not standardize every Queen bed skirt.

The same deck can produce different coverage

A 15-inch and an 18-inch drop end three inches apart. Measure the actual vertical distance rather than choosing from the Queen label alone.

Measurement method

Start with the product and space you actually have.

  1. 1

Measure the support surface. Record the deck width and length where the product will rest.

  2. 2

Measure the vertical drop. Measure from the deck seam to the desired lower edge.

  3. 3

Record the corners. Note posts, split corners, pleats, and other construction details.

  4. 4

Compare finished dimensions. Use the current product chart instead of the size label alone.

Calculate a target size for your own mattressUse your measurements instead of relying on a nominal label.
